Narendra Modi's foreign trips have often become a point of contention for the Opposition to target him. The Opposition has constantly attacked PM Modi's numerous trips saying that it has paralyzed governance in the nation.

An RTI has revealed that the Prime Minister has made a total of 41 trips to over 50 countries in 48 months of his tenure. The total cost of these trips according to the RTI amounts to over Rs 355 crore.

The information was revealed after an RTI activist from Bengaluru submitted a query regarding the prime minister's foreign visit. The prime minister has spent a cumulative 165 days abroad during his tenure.

If you add the fact that our International policy has been a thumping failure, to the fact that Modi has been taking a lot of trips, you'll come to the conclusion that the more this idiot goes out the worse our international affairs become. As previously expected, grand standing and hugs dont translate to foreign policy wins. MMS was a far far better PM with so many more achievements. Modi inhereted a great country with only 1 hostile neighbour that has been constant since independence -Pakistan. And now he has made the whole neighbourhood hostile -
1) Nepal - Jumped into China's arms after Modi's unofficial months long blockade to kill their economy.
2) Srilanka - A complete failure to stop it from falling into China's arm. They now have a military base there where they dock submarines.
3) Smaller countries surrounding India like Maldives, Bangladesh etc are all now comfortably in China's grip.

You cant fathom a war now. Our military is at an all time low, with they themselves saying that the situation is really bad as regards to provisioning. I dont think we will even survive something like Kargil again because 1) we have a chaiwala PM who will **** up even an advantageous situation. 2) WE are now surrounded by hostile countries all around. All china needs to do is to flex some muscles and we will have India broken into multiple parts, swallowed by small countries on each side cause we simply cant fight a multiple front war.

The biggest failure of this chaiwala has been how he's managed to **** up BOTH Russia and US relations. No one has been an as comprehensive failure as Narendra Modi. Even 5 lac bhakts spreading fake glorifying news cant stop the flood of bad news coming in multiple times a day.

No, he's putting us out there. He has invited Trump as a guest for the next Republic day parade, if Trump accepts then Modi will be the only PM to have had two US presidents visit in one term. Remarkable for a guy who got refused a US visa on the basis of opposition rhetoric that has been permanently put to bed. It's really telling when he went on those trips how the last time an Indian PM bothered to visit was decades ago. As far as diplomacy goes Modi has been a complete win for us. The last PM that comes close would be Nehru.

MMS was reduced to a mere puppet in the second UPA which is why things went out of whack as they did. He was no longer in charge of economic policy. Chiddu was

1) Nepal is a perennial PITA. They wanted to disenfranchise madhesis in their consitution. We stepped in because we weren't willing to accept their refugees. That we had to squeeze Nepal twice once in 1988 and later in 2015 only goes to show how dsyfunctional that country is. I bash Nepalis online all the time. They want to get into China's grip. Go ahead. Just realise geography does not exactly allow China to be of much assistance in the event of an emergency. If you allow China to set up bases, we will fight China in your country. They shut up quickly after that.

2) Sri Lanka has been courting us for investments since the 90s. It was Chandrika that started making these offers. We were given first choice to develop Hambantota but due to a complete lack of any return declined. Remember Sri Lanka got blacklisted because of their LTTE operations. Nobody wanted to invest in Sri Lanka and the only option left was the Chinese. Sri Lanka is solely responsible for the mess they got into. The new govt which its alleged we had a role in engineering has been much more circumspect of starting new deals with the Chinese. They DO NOT have a military base where they can dock submarines. There was just one visit by a Chinese boomer and that was it. This latest development is not an issue.

3) these countries are looking for loans which come at high rates. They are sovereign and free to choose who invests with them. We are working with the Japanese to offer alternatives that more transparent.

Utter nonsense. Blame the defense minister of the previous administration that alowed the defense budget to roll over for TEN YEARS because Sonia had other populist measures in mind. Result is the forces were left wanting for long. China looked really stupid when Doklam happened. Full marks to the current administration for the way they handled that affair. China expected at most a diplomatic objection from Bhutan. They sure as hell weren't expecting us to move into Bhutan and push them back which we did. Don't forget the surgical strike. The first time we've gone as deep and as extensive compared to earlier. A game changer. More will follow when necessary. Did you know the Paks are now in the FATF greylist that was because we worked with partners to ensure it. And this time for terror financing not money laundering which happened last time. Sri Lanka is also in that list for the same reason. No investments likely from anyone unless out of the list.

Again completely wrong. You are totally out of your depth when it comes to foreign affairs. Why do you always put the blame on us and excuse the behaviour of others, in fact everybody. Because you are completely biased against this govt. The last govt can fcuk up monumentally and you won't say a word.

For a country whose economy is 5th biggest in the world why are these travel expenses such a big deal. We've curently got external commitments for projects that are in the $25-30bn range. Making friends does not come for free.

Normal people : He should change his schedule so he is traveling/vacationing less and working more.

BJP : We should change the RTI act.
