Folks, Need advice on desktop rig. Have zeroed on ryzen 5 3600. Am confused whether I need a dedicated GPU or not.
  1. What is your budget?
    • 50K
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • Monitor - 32inch
    • keyboard and mouse
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • Monitor/keyboard/mouse
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - ryzen 5 3600
    • Motherboard - need advice?
    • GPU - Is it needed? My current desktop with i5-6500 + GB H10M-S2CF does not have a dedicated GPU.
      If yes, need advice.
    • PSU
    • cabinet - smaller the better.
    • SSD
    • RAM
    • what else is needed?
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • Yes, will final for now. maybe upgrade in 2yrs
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)

    • No
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Desktop - HD
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • Maybe
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Dual boot with windows 10 and ubuntu.

GPU - Is it needed?
Yes, as 3600 would not render display without discrete GPU.

Given your requirements, I do not think you need any powerful GPU. Even ancient GT710 would suffice and cost about 3-3.5K.

I think, Ryzen 4000 series APUs will suffice your needs better but they are atleast couple of months away.

Another basic question:
Asrock B450 Pro 4 has a HDMI out. So does GT710 and GT1030.
Can these GPU drive a display from the motherboard's HDMI out?

Few other queries:
* What's a good APU in the same price range as Ryzen 5 3600? Either AMD or intel will do!
* How reliable are the mdcomputers or primeabgb w.r.t online buying?
* Any recommended shop in Bangalore (Whitefield/mahadevpura/KRPuram and around)?

I doubt about this could happen. I mean you have to connect HDMI of GPU.

One of Ryzen 4000 series (possibly Ryzen 5 4400G as per rumours) APUs will be having performance similar to Ryzen 5 3600 along with iGPU. This is because generally APU lags one gen behind CPU in performance. New APUs would be out in a week mostly and go on sale in July.
