Help buying a basic, inexpensive laptop. I mostly want to surf the web and listen to music, maybe occasionally create a document. I won't be saving photos or documents, won't be gaming, or editing photos. Is Chrome or Microsoft the best OS for me? How much ram and hard drive do I really need? Does mmc verses ssd or hard drive make a real difference? Here are two I've been looking at, both HP, one windows and one chrome. Any recommendations?

I think that 2 one is more preferable, 2 one will be working faster because of SSD, and besides that it looks more cool than the 1 one, it's my own opinion

Considering you dont keep 10+ tabs open at the same time (for browsing), music and occasional document editing
It doesn't matter if you get a windows laptop or a chrome OS laptop

If you are picking a windows, get atleast 64GB one (500GB HDD~Preferrable)
Windows 10 alone will consume anywhere between 10-20GB so you will be left with only 15-20GB free space on the 32GB variant
For your kind of usage, it doesn't really matter if you get a laptop with HDD/SSD

The chromebook u mentioned is an outdated one (2015 release), not sure if it supports android apps from playstore
Checkout this link for supported ones

If you decide to opt for a chromebook, then having playstore support will be an added advantage

For Chromebooks even 16GB eMMC is fine if you plan to install fewer apps
You can always have a SD Card for media files
