Hello all members after a long time. (Yes, digging in this section after 6 years :D). I need help again to build a all rounder build like last time.

  1. What is your budget?
    • 50-60K
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
    • MOBO - Gigabyte GA 880GM-USB3
    • RAM - Kingston 4GB DDR3 -1333MHZ
    • HDD - WD - 250GB, 500GB Blue, 2TB Green
    • GFX Card - ATI Radeon HD 6790 1GB DDR5
    • SMPS - Corsair GS 600
    • Cabinet - Circle (model not sure)
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • WD 2TB HDD
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Ryzen 3 1300X or Ryzen 5 1600
    • Motherboard - B350 (Asus / Gigabyte)
    • GPU - GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5. (Not sure which model is good)
    • SMPS - Corsair CX650
    • RAM - HyperX 8GB DDR 4 (of what freq. will be best suitable)
    • HDD - WD / Toshiba 4Tb
    • SSD- I'll add later.(or should have 120 GB?)
    • Cabinet - Corsair Carbide series
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • Yes - This will be final build & should serve me next 4-5years as current served.
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
    • Pune/ Can come to Mumbai/ Online.
  7. Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • No.
  8. What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
    • Gaming (very less). I have DELL U2712HM monitor, even if game runs in FHD resolution, it should be fine.
    • Browsing
    • Desktop Processing
    • Watching HD movies
  9. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.
    • I am inclined towards Ryzen, if possible suggest me Intel counter config. as well.
  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?

    • GTA 5 & new releases (very occasionally).
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Gaming - 1080p
  12. Are you looking to overclock? Not currently.
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Windows 7

Hoping for another Rock solid build solutions from fellow TE Guru's.:)

PS. : My this setup is for sale alongwith Samsung T220 22" monitor, should be posting ad soon in Sell section.:D

I would recommend you to wait till jan until intel launches their b360 chipset. then you can go ffor the i5 8400, gtx 1060 and 16 gigs of ram. This is What I am doing right now for my personal rig.

If you are inclined towards Ryzen, then consider doing this.

1) Maybe get a Ryzen 3 1200 and overclock it on stock cooler. 1300x doesn't have any real advantage over an overclocked 1200, so you can save some money here. OR, spend a bit more to get a Ryzen 5 1600 with 6C/12T. Day and night difference for any tasks other than gaming, but it will start beating other quad cores with new games and possibly an i7 too, if the devs finally start using more threads. If you want your rig to last 5 years, then dont choose the middle road IMO. Either choose the cheapest 1200 and upgrade only the CPU in 2 3 years or go full on with a 1600

2) For a PSU, I would strongly recommend a tier one or two from the following articles:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/

Also, looking by your posts, you seem to have correctly nailed your needs to the wall and are pretty clear about what you want. For full HD 1060 is generally considered a go to card, but 1050ti is fine if you only need medium to high settings. 1060 is about 50% faster and is suitable for ultra. Choice depends on your budget. As for which 1050ti to get, there are many in the market. Zotac seems to be a popular choice here, but really you cannot go wrong with any.

Oh, and could you please list down the price of each component and place of purchase. Would be helpful for other members who want to build a similar PC.
