Hello Friends,

Facing a strange issues in Blackberry

I changed another number SIM to Blackberry and found all contacts lost (stored for previous SIM).

Not sure but I am assuming is it due to enterprise E mail account I need to activate on BB? If yes, then I also not aware which mail id configured for it? In BB, all contacts saved directly to server like Google? No idea though.

Pl help me to get all contacts back. (P.S.:- Its Wifi phone:banghead:)

Mention your bb model number.
Older bb til os 7 doesn't save contacts to gmail directly. U must have bis or bes activated to save them on gmail.

He can always export from the older BB devices to any other device. Plus now apps are also available for a one time sync. But the devil is in the details. What did he have earlier & whats there now?

Blackberry 9360 7.1 Bundle 1647 (v 7.1.0.523, Platform 9.6.0.80)
What was your previous phone model and current phone model?
Its same.
Let me put again.
1) Contacts are stored and available in BB (say SIM is X)
2) Removed SIM X & put on another SIM Y for 2 days use only. At this time, by my mistake, neither I take Google back up nor SD Card back up...Damn....
3) Reinstall above SIM X again in above same BB phone. Found all contacts lost in phone.

What I did to restore contacts?
1) Checked contacts in SIM X, but not even single contact found
2) Checked contacts in whatsup also but nothing there in.
3) I doubt, the contacts is stored to BB server through may be either by (i) enterprise email account OR (2) Blackberry ID. If so, I don't know which Id all those !! :(.

Pl help me out. Thanks.

Was BIS activated on sim X ? If yes and if you have synced it with google then it shouldnt go anywhere.
until and unless you wipe the device or used any other third party app to manage the contacts it should not get deleted by itself.
even if you swap. imported contacts stays in contacts.

BIS was activated by one gmail id which was temporarily generated on the name of my son. I lost that id. But, Google back up never initiated after first login (BIS activation.)

Right. Wipe not done on phone. I too surprised. only 5 contacts appeared in contact list. Well, other media like photos, videos all restored automatically. Even whats up group (not contacts) also restored itself.
Check your blackberry protect settings as well. There is a restore option there.
Unable. Message appeared :
"The service plan for your Blackberry device does not support this application. Please contact your service provider for additional information or to update your service plan"
I got above message while BB phone connected on WiFi network.

Assumptions:-
1. This occurrence coz not connecting with BB server in lac of Blackberry ID which I forgot?! If yes, then why other media auto restored except contacts?!
2. SD Card malfunctioning?!!

Am fainted!

cisco_tech & axeman : waiting dear..
Should blackberry id to recover? if yes, how? I am sure there is no synchronization with any google account.
What axeman suggestions is workable but got message (mentioned above) on service plan! I don't know why such message coz BB connected thru WiFi

Wifi doesnt matter. Had you subscribed (paid for on monthly basis) for a BIS/ BES plan?

And more importantly did you opt for 299 Messaging and mail plan ? or Full 499 Plan ? Because 399 plan doesnt support BB ID sync as far as i remember.

no

Simple Voice plan on BB at present.
Can't we transfer contacts from my phone (Sony XR-Android) to this BB phone? Sony XR contacts back up by gmail account as well.

BB can import a CSV file IIRC. Best you move your posts to the official BB forums and crackberry. OS6/7 are a lost art on general purpose forii now.

U mean, thru WiFi, BB server could not connected!..... only Data Plan required?!!

But I checked my android Sony ZR which can export .VCF contacts file to media card?
Yes u can import csv file. Import them to outlook and sync via bb desktop manager.
@axeman I'm still using 4 years old 9780. :p
Import from where? Google account? How to use desktop manager. Bit confused. can you pl elaborate step by step. Regret my knowledge.

1. Not Data Plan, Blackberry services plan. It gives you access to blackberry services. Different from a 2g/3g/wifi data connection.
2. So export to media card the VCF file
3. Google search.

Not sure since this is my spouse phone.

Doesn't matter to export VCF files to media card. Question is does this VCF support to BB phone then. If yes then problem is over.
3. Google search.
Got it. Thanks.

supportforums.blackberry.com has better and more accurate information. You can also send a .vcf file via bluetooth to a BB and it will accept it as "new contacts"
