Hi all

Finally about to get a second hand Pulsar 150 :hap2:

The problem is that the guy who is selling the bike is already onsite, the person he has left incharge said the guy has signed some paper.

Now my questions are

1. Can the bike be transferred into my name?

2. Whats the procedure for that?

3. Is the presence of the owner necessary for the transfer.

4. Which all papers does the guy need to sign, so that when I take the bike tomm I can check if everything is in order.

TIA :)

For the vehicle to be transferred in your name the following needs to be there/done...

You need a Transfer Form on which the buyer and sellers/owners signature is mandatory... Along with that Registration certificate, Copy of Insurance and Non Pollution Certificate of the vehicle and your resident proof (as in a Voter card, Ration Card, Driver's License copy etc).

All photo state copies needs to be attested and No the owner need not be present there but you do need his signature on the form. There is some particular fee also which needs to be deposited in the authority for the transfer.

At least that's the procedure here in Delhi :)

1. Yes

2, 3, 4 : Find an agent. Pay him 350-500 and give him your original Drivers license. Bike will be reansferred to your name by evening :p thats what I did.
If you want to do it yourself, stand in queue for payment, get PU certificate, again stand in Q for giving forms, blah blah blah

New problem, the guy doesn't have any transfer papers signed with him

So he is planning to scan the pages and send them to him in the US and he can scan them back with the signs and all

Will that even work? Can the bike still be transferred into my name?

get the sign, do a forgery :| no one even takes a look at them.

IIRC his sign is needed only on the Form 29 and 30. nowhere else.

RC, Insu, PUC- all original docs. :)

Plus NOC from the RTO vehicle is registered at. :)

Dunno if scans work, my friend had to ship papers to his bro in the US via Fedex and get them signed and shipped back via Fedex- too expensive. :(

Do you have the original documents or not?

You dont need NOC if the bike you bought is registered in karnataka.

PUC go to any pollution checking place and get one.

Here you go :)

Organisation Chart

Transfer of Ownership

FORM CMV29 in duplicate and CMV 30

1.Registration Certificate

2.Insurance Certificate

3.Tax card

4.Address Proof

5.Pollution Under Control Certificate

6.No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by other state registering authority

7.Clearance Certificate (CC) in case of Vehicle migrated from other region

@Sunny, I haven't purchased the bike yet, the person's room mate has all this RC and all with him

I found the CMV 29 and 30 forms online at http://rto.kar.nic.in/list-procedures.htm (way down)

Now, he'll probably take a printout of these and courier them back to us.

Some extra things that the room mate told are needed to be signed. They are:

1.Sales Receipt

2.Transfer of Insurance

3.Authorization letter

Any idea what are these things and how important are these to be signed.
