RIM has announced an update to their popular BlackBerry Messenger ( BBM ) app which brings voice calls.
The BlackBerry Messenger version 7 brings voice calls facility over Wi-Fi connection for free. So, users can call their BBM contacts over Wi-Fi and enjoy free calling.
During voice calls, BBM will show a split screen, allowing users to chat at the same time or use other apps.
The calling feature in BBM is currently in beta, and requires BlackBerry 6 OS or higher. But RIM plans to bring it to older phones running BB OS 5 later.
