Multipurpose (read Browsing/Gaming/Programming test just abt everything)

I'm looking for a new build for my home. Not sure whether to go AMD or Intel way. and have doubts regarding SMPS selection. As I'm thinking of puttng a SLI/Crossfire later.

The 40K budget is inclusive of all except KBD/Mouse/Speakers
I can use a sparsely used 17" LG CRT if the performance I get by using my full budget is good.

I'll be keeping the machine for 2-3 yrs (mostly its 1.5-2yrs but last one 4yrs as I was working too much :( ).
