Looks like Peter at nikonrumors pretty much nailed it. The D800 was announced today in 2 variants - D800 and D800E (without the AA filter). The camera has a 36mp full frame sensor and gets a lot of features from the new D4 (including AF and metering) all at a price of $2999 and $3299 (for the E version). It's also smaller and lighter than the D700!
