Pantech has launched a new smartphone, and it is named the Vega No. 6 (not Vegas ). The Pantech Vega is an addition to the growing crowd of phablet-tablet hybrid smartphones (should give them a new name, smart-tabs or something). The Pantech Vega No. 6 packs a humongous 5.9 inch 1080p Full HD display that already puts it ahead of almost all 7 inch tablets out there. Let's have a look.
Pantech Vega No. 6
We have to start of by saying that Pantech has a weird naming scheme. Vega No. 6 is hardly the name given to a device. Leaving that aside, the Pantech Vega 6 (as we like to call it) is a phablet-tablet hybrid packing all the latest thrills and frills under the hood.
Pantech Vega 6 Specifications
There is no word on the battery. We wouldn't be surprised if it were a 3,000 mAh unit. It seems that 5 inch doesn't cut it anymore, and even 5.5 inch isn't enough and so smartphone manufacturers are coming up with devices nearly 6 inch in (display) size (ridiculous).
There is already an Indian smartphone (namely the Karbonn A30) which offers such a huge display, and is quite popular. It seems that there really is a market for such hybrid (read, confused) phablets too. We'll be seeing more of such devices in the coming months, especially with a rumored 6.3 inch Galaxy Note III and 6.44 inch Sony phablet lined up for release this year.
