Partial Oasis Album Spreads Through BitTorrent

The British group "Oasis" are finding more songs from their upcoming album "Don't Believe the Truth" online. The first song to trickle its way online was titled "Lyla", which began appearing on P2P networks in late March. However, due to an unexpected turn of events, nearly half of the album is now available.

This unexpected turn of events may be in part due to an individual selling the full album on eBay. According to reports, the album was selling for approximately $19 US dollars, or 9.99 British Pounds. The seller, "KBROWN123" no longer has the item up for auction. The album is not scheduled for released until May 16th.

The following advertisement went along with the eBay sale:

"This is a very rare, full-length copy of the forthcoming Oasis album Don't Believe The Truth. This is a CDR copy which comes with promo artwork. Don't miss this opportunity to this album before anyone else."

Because the item has already sneaked its way to the public, the music studios may be forced to release the album early. Although the fanfare already associated with this event is sure to stir up interest, fears nevertheless exist that massive downloading of the album will dampen record sales.

Yet this already appears to be occurring, as five of the albums 11 tracks are now available on BitTorrent. Whether the availability of these tracks is directly related to the eBay incident is not known at this time.

Several of the larger BitTorrent trackers readily have these tracks indexed. According to the comments section related to .torrent files, the songs appear to be accurate. Sony, Oasis' parent label, is actively searching for the alleged eBay seller with cooperation from eBay.

"KBROWN123" did not immediately respond to for an interview request from Slyck.com.

Looks like there is some mass movement going to happen.
Lets wait and watch.
