hey there,

I think that config is a little over budget, since I'll also need to buy a ups, keyboard, mouse, speakers within the same budget of 45k. Gaming is secondary in this case and a 20 inch monitor will suffice.

maybe i should go for the 2100k proccy instead of the 2400k

There's no 'K' series processor in i3 it's i3 2100 and i5 2400,So this is what you'd go for no need to settle for i3-

Sorry about the confusion about the ' k' , yes i meant the Intel i3 2100 or even 2120 if thats better price to performance over the 2100.

I'm saying this because of the following reasons:
1. Need Speakers and a dvd writer
2. Need a good mouse
3. All the prices mentioned seem to be on the lower side (they keep fluctuating at least on SP Road, Bangalore), like I cant find an apc 650va for lesser than 3500 for my current rig.
4. Even currently the total is coming to 46.3k, plus I am a little unsure if the normal gfx cards are the best bet for 3d design, I'll do little research on that.

Thus I am considering switching over to a lower end cpu(2100), if you guys say thats not enough for 3d design then I guess I'll have to wait a bit and extend the budget.

EDIT: Looked it up and wouldn't this gfx be better for graphic design Nvidia Quadro FX 600 -http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-quadro-600-us.html

GO FOR IT - This is only the entry level Quadro Series card that Nvidia launched for home users a few months ago - It is rock solid & stable and reasonably priced at 8.5 to 9K and the next in this series is Quadro 2000 which is priced between 25 - 28K.

I'll answer serially-
1-The dvd write will be 1k,Don't have much idea about the speakers so other members will comment on that.
2-Logitecg G400-1.5k is a great mouse with great build quality and 3 year warranty,If you don't want to spend that much then go for Logitech MK200 combo-0.7k
3-Yes the prices keep changing due to dollar shift daily so can't guaranty that the prices above will be accurate.
4-If you want you can go for i3 2100-6.4k due to budget but it may affect little in performance in apps,About the gpu if you want 3d dedicated gpu then you'd have to go for -Nvidia Quadro 300-7.2k OR Quadro 600-10k but you won't be able to game with these.
The i3 2120 is better than 2100 so you can go for that-Core i3-2120 and Core i3-2100 Processors Review - X-bit labs

GFX-
Sapphire HD6670-5k or Quadro 600-10k
UPS- APC 650VA -3.5k
DVD - Samsung 1k

thats a total of 42k or 47k depending on the gfx

For speaker any decent 2.1 speakers( I was thinking altec lansing 2.1 ones)

Also what mobo should I go for ( I have the Gigabyte one on my current config and it seems fine, it shouldn't be a bottleneck)
For the gfx , if the quadro is completely useless for gaming then I'll go for the Sapphire 6670, will the Quadro 600 be able to play games like fifa, nba and nfs for the next 1-2 yrs on a 20" screen(1600*900)

For the mobo go for- GIGABYTE GA-H61M-D2H-3k
Speakers- ALTEC LANSING BXR1221-1.2k

Mac.rock 7: Ya that speaker seems fine, probably will buy it locally.

also, going for the 6670 over the quadro 600 due to budget constraints(also for gaming)
possibly may go for the i5- 2400 combo if the price is right. Will let you guys know.

Thanks a lot guys.
