Better buy a DDRIII mobo instead of a DDRII one. Easy for cheaper RAM upgrades in the future.

TheITWares dealer seems to have a Gigabyte DDRIII 740G mobo for 3-3.3k~ Better go for that one as you will be using a discrete GPU the IGP doesnt matter much. He has a shop in Lammy too. PM him for details. Another shop you can chk out is Prime in Lammy.

If you are tight on budget also consider getting a Sapphire 512MB GDDR5 ~ 5.1 and save 1k~ This GPU should suffice for a 20" monitor.

Thanks for the reply Darky.

Okay I will go for Gigabyte ma74gmt-s2 and DDR3 ram. ;).

btw what do you mean by

Do you mean 5670 ?? will it be able to play recent games (mostly racing) at medium settings ??

radeon 4770 is good but now go for for 5xxx series due to dx11 support and better fabrication process .....:)

i myself used radeon 4770 n now m getting radeon 5850 as i m getting total refun for my RMAed 4770 :cool2:

CPU - II X3 - 425 - Rs.3650

RAM - 2 GB DDR3 - Rs. 3000

HDD - Seagate 500 GB - Rs. 2350

GPU - ATI 4670 - Rs. 4600

Cabinet - Gamma - Rs.2100

PSU - Gigabyte 460 W - 2350

Keyboard & Mouse - Microsoft 600 Wired - Rs.750

DVDRW - LiteOn - Rs.1150

Speakers - BXR1221 - Rs. 1000

LCD - Samsung 20" 2033 - Rs.7200

- See if you can go +2600Rs. and get the above.

Thanks Techmind for that config, it looks great.

but I feel it wont be well suited for a 11yr old, specially the tricore, which wont be of much use to him. Dual core is more then enough for his use, also what he needs are smoother graphics (so he doesnt cry again for a faster PC :p), and good speakers for movies.

Is the Samsung any better then Benq 20"er ??

Yup the HD5670. Missed it while editing i guess.:ashamed:

And ya as very little desktop processing is involved and more of a gaming PC put more money into the GPU :) Stick to a AthlonII X2 240/245.

HD4770>HD5670>HD4670. The HD5670 is a perfect choice as it has low idle power and you are getting a 20" monitor only and also its DX11. The HD4770 is powerful and low power consuming too but availability may be an issue.

Also the FSP SAGAII 400w is used in the Gigabyte 460 Superb.(Courtesy: Gannu) So get whichever is cheaper and available. Guess the FSP is Rs.200~ cheaper.

As far as HDD is concerned WD Blue has 5yrs warranty against Seagate's 3yrs and WD also offers pick up service in case of RMA. But the Seagate is faster. I would recommend WD as it would reduce RMA hassles.

The Sammy 2033 is a very good monitor. Also check out the Dell S2009W ~ 6.5k. Chk all three monitor in person if possible before deciding.

Thanks Darky that was of great help :D.

One small change. Get a single 2GB DDR3 stick now. Coz the mobo has only 2 DIMM slots. So if u get 2 sticks now then u would have to sell your current stick when upgrading.

Also if Corsair RAM is priced <= Rs.3000 get them as it has a 10 years warranty and much better after sales service.

You getting 100 DVD's. Wow. Gonna backup whole of the 500GB HDD data? :p

That happens with only low end cards like the HD4350(may be the HD4650) IIRC. I think in HD5xxx it will support only the low end HD5450(may be in HD5570) and wont be implemented for the HD5670 etc... Also you need a 890GX for HD5xxx cards to work in Hybrid CrossfireX mode IIRC.

The performance gain is not worth it for implemeting it in mid-range cards and the hybrid can even affect the card's performance if implemented for a card such as the HD5670.

Also the M4A78LT-M LE has only 760G which only supprts Hybrid CrossfireX with a HD3450 IIRC.

Plz take some time and learn about a technology/hardware before suggesting it to someone. It may not be your intention to mislead but these can mislead ppl. So plz refrain from commenting on something that you lack the proper knowledge.

thanks for the info ... yes my intention was not to mislead but to help him .... any way i am a novice when it comes to hardware for s/w little abv novice :bleh:

Thanks for the help ppl, I finally bought the stuffs

CPU AthlonII X2 240 2.8ghz 5700

Mobo Gigabyte ma74gmt-s2

RAM Corsair 2GBx1 240-Pin DDR3 1333mhz 2900

HDD 500 GB WD Blue 2250

GPU Sapphire HD5670 512GB DDR5 5575

Cabinet NZXT Gamma 2100

PSU FSP Saga II 400W 2100

Keyboard Microsoft Wired desktop 500 650

Mouse

ODD LG GH22NS30 1100

Speakers Altec Lansing 2.1 VS4121 2800

DVD blk Verbatim 50 DVD pack 575

LCD Samsung 2030SW 6800

Webcam Logitech Webcam C120 600

I got my stuff from E-Lounge (aka theITwares), Rahul was a nice guy to deal with.

Got the Samsung 2030SW instead of the Benq, cause it was out of stock, and I was somehow hoping for a 2030SW cause my cousin might like the look of it.

Also 2030SW is better then 2033SW, it has more contrast (50000:1 vs 15000:1 dynamic on 2033SW) and an audio jack which is not there on 2033SW and few other things.

Gigabyte Galaxy 460w was not available so I got the FSP which was available for the same price, since these both PSU uses the same circuitry.

When all these stuffs were being ordered, there was NZXT Gamma cabby lying on the shelf, the style really got my eyes, but it was more expensive, but one look into its internals made me think it was worth it. Previously I was thinking for a CM Elite 310.

I was on a very tight budget of 32k, so I tried to trim on the quality a bit, I was previously gonna go for Kingston RAM but it was not available, so got the Corsair, which was 200 more, but it was worth it, cause I really like corsair After sales service.
