Hi guys, sold my current setup, now need to know which one will be the best processor,Pentium Dual Core E5700 or E6600? when checked cpu score,e5700 is 2000+ and e6600 is 1000+ so does it mean e5700 is better than e6600?THANKS
i will be using it with asus P5G41 TMLX and 2gb or 4gb ddr3 1333 kingston memory.

I think e6600 would be better, as it has more cache 4mb and its FSB is also higher then the e5700. On the other hand e5700's die size is 45nm lower then e6600(65nm), so lower power consumption and less heat.

But the e5700 is better then the e6600 in overclocking as its multiplier is higher.

Do you already have the motherboard? Or will buy it? If you're getting the CPU+mobo then it makes more sense in getting an AMD combo.

Anyways, to answer your question, e5700 would be better if you intend to overclock.

I had a P4 630 LGA 775 and P5KPL AM-PS with 2gb ddr2 ram before,Now i need a good pc with good integrated graphics with low power consumption,S planned to buy p5g41tmlx and 2 or 4gb ddr3 1333 kington memory,Still in confusion about the processor,

Pentium Dual Core E5700

(2M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)

and

Pentium Dual Core E6600

(2M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 1066 FSB)

^ What's your total budget?
AMD will give much better IGP compared to Intel counterparts.
No,i am no interested in amd,Just want to know which of the above is best?Did the fsb diff and multiplier diff creates any diff in performance?

@OP: how much did the e6600 cost you and from where?

I also intend to buy a LGA775 cpu soon...

Also, e5800 has been launched (3.2 ghz), so would be looking at that too..

I got the E6600 for 3200rs,but price had increased 150rs here,so when i got the E6600 it was 3200rs,e5700-3200rs and e5800-3600rs.

My personal review of e6600.

Awesome performance when compared to my old p4 630. :) now i can watch HD movies 1080p and 720p blurays without stucks using onboard GMA4500 video. convert videos faster and multitask awesomely.value for money processor. :) go and get it bro.E6600 has 1066FSB others have only 800fsb. :)
