Hy frinds,

my prsent config is:

C2D 2.93 ghz
asus p5kpl-cm mobo
ati 5770 1 gb
4gb ddr2
samsung 24'' moniter

my budget is 25000
purpose of rig is only for gaming

at my current config im not able to play games at top settings, i hv to lower down my resolution for good fps. eg, metro 2033, just cause2, gta4, fallout 3 are running fine(except a bit of fliker here and there) at 1280x720 with all other setting at high.

But i want smooth gaming (60 fps) at 1980x1050 resolution.

im thinking about i3/i5 as they hv intigrated graphics,
will these help in incrse gaming performance. wat do u think.

plz advise a processor that can help improve gaming performance.

You are gonna spend on the processor for this reason and u think IGP will increase gaming performance  U made my day boss

You need some basic H/W knowledge before getting a rig and u are a gamer too!!! How did end up getting yourself a HD5770? You need to get a HD5850 at least for HD gaming at high settings for most games. Google a bit and look around for the revies of various GPU's. Most reviews have detailed info about the fps u get for various games at different reviews.

Chk out sites like Anandtech, tomshardware, legitreviews, hardwaresecrets, Guru3d etc...

Get a HD5870 and O.C your processor to 3.8-4 GHz. But even then i guess your processor will act a bottleneck for a card like HD5870 i guess.

Wait for the gamers to comment.

Op: u need to invest in a better graphics card. something like Darkangel has suggested 5870. Also the proccy is still gonna be a bottleneck. Try and get urself a quad. It will help in most of the games being played currently. If budgetwise its not feasible to buy both proccy and 5870, then go for a 5850 with any decent quad. u can possibly sell of ur current proccy and GFX card and extend ur options too.

hy friends,

i understand wat u r saying, gamming is dependent on gpu,

but as u said my c2d will act as bottel neck fr 5870,

reason y i asked for new processor is to ensure this is not the case any more

so buying one more 5770 will hlp ?
wat do u think, will my c2d be sufficient with 2 5770 s

i can change my mobo and smps, i think all three will be in my budget

Sell your current Mobo/Proccy/RAM/GPU, it will fetch approx 18k.

Get this combo -

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T - 10.3k
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H - 9.5k
G.Skill 4GB (2x2) 1333/1600MHz DDRIII - 7k
Sapphire HD 5850 1GB - 15k

Total - 41.8k

OP - You have not mentioned anything about SMPS, VX450 or Tagan/CM RP/Seasonic equivalent can easily handle above setup, But for headroom VX550 will serve you well enough, very good VFM @ 5.5k.

It may exceed your budget but it's well worth it, balanced rig.

C2D 2.93 ghz
asus p5kpl-cm mobo

I agree with Sidhu about selling ur current config. But reviews of AMD Phenom II X6 1055T suggest they are not a gaming proccy and not to a VFM buy if u are going for a new setup.

After selling ur stuff you would have a budget of about 25+18k --> 43k

AMD Phenom II X4 955BE - 7.8k

Gigabyte GA-785GMT-USB3 - 5.8k (Supports Thubans too after a bios upgrade)

Corsair 4GB kit(2x2) XMS3 1333/1600MHz DDRIII - 6.4k

Sapphire HD 5850 1GB - 15.5k

Total - 35.5k

Keep the rest in as a buffer cash or future GPU upgrade and get a better HD6xxx series(will be released in Q4 2010 IIRC) 1 yr down the lane when you feel u need more GPU power. The HD6xxx series GPU being a 2nd generation DX11 chip will be much better than the HD5xxx when it comes to DX11 tessellation etc...
