Yahoo ready to sue Facebook

Yahoo accused facebook of infringing 10-20 of their patents. Yahoo is demanding a settlement from facebook. Facebook could be forced to license the patents or settle with Yahoo by paying out pre-IPO stock, the same way Google was coerced into giving Yahoo 2.7 million shares in a patent settlement before the search giant’s 2004 IPO.

Google+ is a Flop

Recent data from comScore is showing that users are least engaged in google+ . Even though Google boasts about the increase in new sign-ups to Google+ . People are just signing up and not using it . The report says people have used google+ for 3 mimutes per month compared to facebook’s 405 minutes per month. Even the haunted SNS ,My Space is used 8 minutes per day which is more than twice of Google +.

Can you hack Chrome?

Google has announced a total of $1 million rewards for exploits in chrome browser. These rewards will be give in CanSecWest security conference.

The rewards given are :

$60,000 - “Full Chrome exploitâ€: Chrome / Win7 local OS user account persistence using only bugs in Chrome itself.

$40,000 - “Partial Chrome exploitâ€: Chrome / Win7 local OS user account persistence using at least one bug in Chrome itself, plus other bugs. For example, a WebKit bug combined with a Windows sandbox bug.

$20,000 - “Consolation reward, Flash / Windows / otherâ€: Chrome / Win7 local OS user account persistence that does not use bugs in Chrome. For example, bugs in one or more of Flash, Windows or a driver. These exploits are not specific to Chrome and will be a threat to users of any web browser. Although not specifically Chrome’s issue, we’ve decided to offer consolation prizes because these findings still help us toward our mission of making the entire web safer.

All winners will also receive a Chromebook.

Facebook has embarked on a nationwide test of a new disaster message board for users across Japan.Users can tag themselves safe so that their dear one far away can know that they are safe and sound. Friends can also tag you as safe and make comments on your situation. It came as a magnitude 5.1 quake struck north-east of Tokyo.

Movie studio Nu Image has filed a case against 2,165 bittorrent users for downloading the movie Conan The Barbarian. lawyers have learned from past mistakes, increasing the risk for those accused of copyright infringement.

Whoa.. what rotten luck..

First, to be dragged to court.. and on top of that, for Conan the barbarian..?

I think if they confirm, the crime would be the movie selection rather than downloading.

They should wait for few days. Ra.One-2 might be in the pipeline.

As per the report, "the suit targets 2,165 alleged sharers of ‘Conan The Barbarian,’ a film that was downloaded on BitTorrent by millions of people in recent months." The survey company should be sued too.
