Your Facebook Login Information Can Be Stolen From iOS or Android Application

facebooklogin.jpg

A security hole has been exposed in Facebook Mobile application for iOS and Android devices through which login information can be stolen by malicious apps or by USB connection .

Facebook's native application does not encrypt the login credentials .

Gareth Wright , a U.K based app developer discovered the vulnerability . He was poking around in few application directories using iexplorer (previously iphone explorer), then he stumbled into a plain text Facebook access token in the popular Draw Something by OMG POP , Which is stored when Draw something requests offline access to account . From this , he was able to query his data .

Then he went through FB's directory where he found .plist file , he passed this to a friend who was able to gain access and started posting status updates , sending private messages and liking websites .

Facebook is currently working for a fix , but there is no ETA yet .

Galaxy Nexus owners are reporting that after updating to Android 4.0.4 , the phone loses signal once it goes into sleep mode .

This is when there are no applications running in background , due to processor speed dropping below a certain point .

This can be solved by running some apps in background or setting minimum CPU clock from 350 to 700 .

The issue exists solely in 4.0.4 ROM, going back to 4.0.2 ROM solves it .
