ISP’s to punish BT pirates.

From 12[sup]th[/sup] july this year all the major ISP in US are going to incorporate the new system of tracking users who are pirating and try to educate them and if that did not work well then throttle connections ,reduce service quality and even account suspension.

104 Music sites Blocked

Calcutta high court has ordered a total of 387 ISP to block 104 sites which are proven to be hosting copyrighted music . The court has ordered not only DNS blocking but also IP blocking and Deep packet inspection. Interestingly SAREGAMA said “We don’t want these sites to be shut down, we want them to pay a license fee and flourish as a business†, “There are legitimate businesses in operation too. The scope is there, and we want these sites to be legal†.

Turkey bans Pastebin and TinyURL

Pastebin and Tinyurl have been blocked in Turkey. Pastebin was blocked last week by a court after the hacking of Turkish Information and Communications Technologies Authority (BTK). Four databases including email addresses and plain-text passwords stolen from BTK were posted to Pastebin last month, in response for the blocking of Blogspot, Incisozluk (a popular Turkish community dictionary) and thousands of other websites. TinyURL which has nothing to do with any of this is also blocked.

Send Them Your Money

This is an online campaign against the MPAA and RIAA who are actively trying to censor the world and eradicate piracy (That’s what they think). Since both these groups say that digital piracy is costing them millions , the campaign encourages people to scan physical money and send it to RIAA and MPAA which makes them equivalent to digital losses due to piracy.
