Angry Birds Space launched, Rovio working on a Windows Phone port

angrybirdsspace.jpg

The game raced to number 1 position for both the iOS and the Android Market. The game released for the PC, iOS and the Android this past week.

An older Bloomberg report stated that Rovio had no plans to release a Windows phone version, but according to Rovio that isn't the case and they're "working" on one.

Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka said :

“[Angry Birds] is the number one app in the Windows Phone app store, but it’s a big undertaking to support it, and you have to completely rewrite the application, If you look at activations, Apple’s iOS and Android are clearly bigger than any other platform. We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it’s a lot of work to technically support it.â€

Zynga games might be heading to the Xbox 360

Zynga CEO Mark Pincus In a recent interview mentioned Microsoft's 360 while discussing the sync of Zynga games across multiple devices.

He said that :

"Right now we are building back-end technology, so that your game state can be saved and served up in difference screens and devices, The interaction cues will take from the different devices. In other words, you can play a game on a computer and call it up on Xbox and you resume from the point you left off, except the game play will now be customized for the Xbox controller."

While till now Zynga games have been made for PC's and wireless devices, if this happens, this would be the first time a Zynga game would make a transition on a console.

Zynga or Microsoft haven't mentioned anything but this might very well be a possibility.

Digital sales making up for more than half of sales for US and UK

a-digital-world.jpg

Sony Digital Audio Disc Corporation has said that Digital Downloads now make up for 51% of sales in both the UK and the US. The company, which also powers download services for over 25 retailers and publishers, has said that the figure will continue growing as downloads become more popular.

They told MCV ( http://www.mcvuk.com...n-the-uk/093294 ) :

“In North America and the UK, we’ve seen a tipping point The majority of sales in those regions are now digital. 51% of all PC game sales were digital eight months ago in the US. Now it’s going to be up to a split of nearly 60/40 in the US alone.

Certainly for the services that Sony DADC provides for digital retailers and publishers, we see [that growth] very much in the PC space at the moment,†added Sony DADC director of engineering Murray Rigluth. “We’re on a path that’s never going to reverse. In six to 12 months there will be huge scramble and rush for digital services.

“This will fragment the market but in five to six years the numbers will reduce and you’ll get more key players.â€

PC version Max Payne 3 will have out of the box DirectX 11 support, new screenshots arrive

The PC version of Rockstar's Max Payne 3 is receiving DirectX 11 for the PC version, Simon Ramsey has confirmed.

He also said that the PC version of Max Payne 3 is being developed together with the console versions, so it will not be a rushed port (I think he mean's a bad port like GTA IV). Also he said that they are working closely with nVidia, so maybe we can expect an nVidia PhysX feature from them.

Binary Domain's graphics are not looking good . IMO .
It's not bad either, plus the PC version will look better. The trailer was for the consoles.

The console version was pretty decent. The PC port should look better. Regardless of the visuals, it is a good TPS.
