GDC4 to feature Unreal Engine 4

It has been announced that the Game Developer's Conference of this year will feature the net gen Unreal Engine 4.

The Gears of War and Bulletstorm dev's will preview the Unreal Engine 4 to "select licensees, partners and prospective customers", though the bad news about this is that non-disclosure agreements are bound to be applied, so we might hear nothing about this.

It was previously told that the next Unreal Engine will require 10x the power of an xbox 360 to be able to run it.

Borderlands 2 shipping with Steamworks on Windows PC

borderlands-2.jpg

It has been announced this past week that the PC version of the Shooter-RPG game, Borderlands 2 will feature Steamworks to power it.

This basically means that the game will enjoy features like Steam Achievements, Downloadable content, steam cloud and multiplayer matchmaking, amongst other features.

Let's hope the price of the Indian version is priced well and i'm sure many people will get this game. The previous one had amazingly fun online co-op campaign.

Borderlands 2 will be out in the US on September 18, 2012 and the UK on September 21, 2012.

Ready at Dawn hiring for a next gen game

readyatdawnlogo050209580.jpg

Ready at Dawn studios, which according to me have developed two of the best psp games in existence (GOW:Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta) are now hiring for a new project, for a next generation console.

The Job Listing (http://www.readyatdawn.com/jobs.php) says :

Are you ready to work on an exciting new AAA IP for a Next-Generation home console game system? Ready At Dawn is working on a 3rd Person Action Adventure and is looking for talented, motivated and self-directed developers to join our team.

The studio has also developer other games such as Daxter as well as a port of the action-adventure game Okami for the Wii, in which you control a wolf.

Although Wii U is the only next generation console that has been announced, it is my personal opinion that this might be a PS4 game.

Bioshock : Infinite launching on the 16th of October

The Bioshock series, which has already sold over 9 million copies worldwide, will continue with it's franchise with Bioshock Infinite, which launches on October 16.

Ken Levine, the creative director of Irrational Games said that, "After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition. BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on it.".

He also said that, "In order to explore the floating city of Columbia, we needed an entirely new engine. To bring Elizabeth to life, we had to build brand-new animation and AI systems. To create wide-ranging indoor and outdoor firefights at 30,000 feet, we had to rethink, rebuild, and expand the BioShock arsenal. The only thing gamers can be certain of is this: the rules of the BioShock universe are about to change."

It was also made known that the PS3 version of the game will have the original Bioshock with it.

Bioshock infinite was officially unveiled in August 2010, after the launch of Bioshock 2 earlier that year.

Developer Ubisoft have told that the new game will feature a new protagonist, Connor, the same who was featured in Game Informer. He's supposed to be a half Native American and Half English.
