His logic was he would sell the laptop cost to cost and earn on other items. I confirmed the 32k quote twice when I was challenged by another guy. I wasted more than 1.5 hours with him trying to fit everything in his and my budget! Definitely their "lowest price guarantee" is just a figure of speech.

What I too noticed is that they keep calling people, add their margins and quote us. But this price is also not the correct price unless you decide you will buy from that particular shop. These quotes may change again when you finally go to buy after comparing shops and you may end up getting fleeced unless you are patient and determined to get the cheapest rate.
Another thing is its better if you only want to buy a single item, since they cannot use the excuse of "adjustment" of their profit in another item.
Knowing the brand name and specifications is quite important otherwise you will get quotes of unheard companies and think the shop is giving good discounts.
You also need to be careful about quality and billing. I overheard them discuss if the quote is for genuine or cash payment or sealed pack piece or without bill etc. in billing also there is a computer bill and hand written bill and we should try and get a computer one. they will try to say that cash items are too "small" to bill and you may lose out on quality and warranty.
Shops on the main road pay about 3 lakhs rent a month so their volume needs to be higher. some shops may try to sell "cheaper" by selling fake products. Shops in the by lanes have rents of about 15k a month, so their margins would be less.
