What size and weight considerations do you have? nope
Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? HP as i get 12 % further discount on 35 k budjet, alternative sugessions should be taking this into consideration
Any other considerations? Battery life
 
go with acer 5740... it will fit perfectly in ur budget... if u can 3-4k more then i would suggest acer 5740g... it has a good graphics card...
