I think if you are buying for music and gaming no need to go for 25k speakers. In that price you can get a pretty decent home theatre.
For laptop I prefer Logitech Z series they are amazing or you can go for F&D otherwise Monoprice is good.

Still if you are willing to spend checkout these

I prefer Logitech but it's your choice after all also Logitech is THX certified so you know that they are going to be crazy but Edifier also have very good reputation.

THX certification is just benchmark which is set by industry. THX certificate meabs that the product will provide good movie experience infact THX certification is provided for theatres as well. So that's why you know that product will have great thumpy bass along with crisp clarity.

THX will add to the cost - putting the badge. Nothing extra to the sound. Not worth paying for. Edifier is OK. If possible, check out the speakers in large format stores like Reliance Digital etc., as they offer more possibility of more models being available for display/demo.

Just one final thing dont you guys think that the source should also have THX certification ..in this case the motherboard sound hardware ..for the proper utillisation of THX technology .

I own Edifier DA5000 PRO the predecessor of 5500. Budget wise its an excellent purchase and you will be overwhelmed by the bass response. It sounds like a perfectly bassed DJ system. If you are not an audio extremist, then you can go for it. The subwoofer is wooden cased and heavy as hell. For a range of 15k its a good choice.

The mother board has ROG SupremeFX High Definition Audio CODEC...hence no THX ...where as the Edifier s550 has only Analog inputs ...considering the Edifier s750D as it fits my budget as well as the mobo hardware . Thanks to all of you guys .

If Logitech Z906 is in mind please stay away...
My friend had so much issues with it.

Has issue with z906 solved by now or its still troublesome? I want to ask to z906 owners..... if console dies, can entire set work fine without any limitation with wireless remote (which can be purchased separately)?
