Reliance Thunder plan -good enough ?

I now got a call from reliance stating they have resolved the problem from their side. But everything is same as before when checked the bandwidth.
The down-link speed is still shown as 1023 kbps in my router. :(

Guys i am using Airtel right now but fed up with the FUP plan Reliance seems to be good option, like Kiran am also staying in Trivandrum but after reading this i have to think..!
Kiran is your issue resolved??

Not yet mate. I feel like they don't care about our issues anymore. Literally, it is better to get any job done from any Government office with ease comparing with my scenario.
So, i am not recommending you to get this connection.
NB: My friend living nearby Pattom took the 1Mbps Thunder connection and is getting the mentioned speeds. So this problem might be area centric.
If you would like to experiment, go on with Reliance Thunder( I suppose you are lucky :))
I recommend you to talk with someone nearby your area who is on reliance broadnet thunder plan, and ask about the reliability of the reliance thunder connection.

Thanks Bro :) ,today i checked with one of my friend nearby(I am living in Karamana) and checked the speed with different time intervals getting as what they have promised ;) seems to be a good option as compared to Airtel's FUP..any ways 'm going to roll the dice if lucky :D

Get in touch with the backend guys in your city through the line man. Tell them your line rate is set at 1mbps and ask them to reset the connection.

Is that a ADSL Modem + wifi router or the router separately?
 
Got Reliance Connection(Takes 1 month though) on 31st October..till now i get the speeds as promised..:)
Happy with the connection since i was coming from Airtel's FUP...;)

DON'T GO FOR " RELIANCE"

i had applied for reliance thunder plan 699 at trivandrum , ambalamukku . They have came same day(Night)to collect the MONEY Rs 799 (installation charge ) and they said with in 5 days i will get connection.their cable post is just 2 meters away from my house) . And no responds after that !.
when i call they used to tell me a time that technician will come, and i wait for him no body comes , it repeated many time with in > two week !, Please go through the mail i sent to relaince below, you will get more idea

. I had applied for Internet broadband connection through Mr. ....on Nov 6, 2013. On Nov 7th i received a confirmation email which said that it will take only 5 days to get the connection,Till date no one has come to give connection.I have tried calling Mr. ..... and also the person who came to collect Rs:799 as installation charge, many times.All those times I was assured of appointments with the technician. It happened three time but no one has come . It is a total disappointment as they have wasted my time. Now i have lost trust in Reliance. All I want now is to get my money back and cancel the application for the connection. I would request you to look into this matter and do the needful at the earliest.

I had the same BAD experience again ! They told me the technician will come on Thursday to give the connection, but nobody came!.So i called Aneesh on Friday, he said it is sure that the technician will come on Saturday morning 11 O Clock. Nobody came at 11 !! so i called again and he said 1 O'clock the technician will come as he has gone out with modem etc. to give connection to me only! No body came till 3 O Clock ! , so i called again and he said technician will come at 4 O Clock, tragically Nobody came !. My whole Saturday went in vain waiting for reliance !!. Also I had received a welcome call from reliance on Saturday ! But why !! you didn't even take the cable into my house, which is only 2 meters from your pole !

I have made a mistake in giving you a second chance :( . Now i don't want to hear any excuse. please do me a favor, refund my money ASAP and cancel the application for the connection.
If the needful(as mentioned above) is not done from your side within a week, i will register a complaint with the consumer forum.

I am in the same boat. My connection isn't working since 14th. I am pissed off to the extent that I have requested for the termination and I'm going back to airtel. Can't really stay without the net for too long.

Why would anyone go for Reliance after reading all this. It is another scam company. Well most ISPs have some criminal accord in their behavior mechanisms. Be it not committing to "on-paper" points, or post service woes. It is such a pathetic situation in the nation "with the fastest growing sector" in the world. Instead of standardization and benchmark setting; our business houses make it a hive for bad practices and malevolent customer centricity. It is atrociously shocking, at the minimal.
 
^ i know exactly how you feel. i had the same issue when i first got reliance, had to literally tell the backend people what the problem was. These guys have no idea what they are doing. :mad:

Actually, they know what they are doing;). They pretend they are unaware! So the users get a feeling that there is no use complaining about this and they refrain!! :banghead:
