It seems that the leaks won't stop this year, especially this year end. Sony's upcoming flagship smartphone code name Yuga gets another fresh new rumor of it's internal specifications. And what you will read, you will most definitely like. Also, this leak falls nicely in tune with the previous leak which said that the Yuga will pack four ARM Cortex A15 cores. Well, enter Samsung's very own Exynos 5450 quad core chipset.
Sony Xperia Yuga

The Sony Xperia Yuga will be the company's flagship smartphone for 2013 (at least the first half of the year, depending on the release time frame that is). Please note that we specifically used the term smartphone and didn't add phablet to it. Sony has other plans for it's phablet monster (Sony Odin) which might pack a display as large as 6" coupled with 1080p resolution.

Coming back to the Sony Yuga, the phone is all set to debut 1H 2013 and go head on with planned flagships from companies like Samsung, HTC and ZTE. The specifications are summarized below:

  • Samsung Exynos 5450 chipset
  • Quad Core ARM Cortex A15 CPU
  • ARM Mali-T658 MP4 (quad core) GPU
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 1080p display – 441 ppi – 5″ display
  • 128 GB ROM
  • 16 MP front camera
  • 1080p video recording
  • Water & Dust resistant body
  • IR Blaster
  • 3000 mAh rating battery

Well, as we have said before, this device is shaping up to a BEAST that we can't wait to see in it's retail form. 3 GB of RAM is a lot lot lot (three lots don't emphasize enough). This will be the first smartphone to pack 3 GB of RAM. The 128 GB of ROM is also the highest for a smartphone. Finally, enough internal storage such that no body can complain for the lack of a micro SD card slot (me included). Also, knowing Samsung's plans, the Exynos 5450 chipset might pack four ARM Cortex A15 cores and four ARM A7 cores at the same time (for lower power consumption and low performance demanding tasks). Here's hoping Sony is sensible enough and only launches this beastphone with the latest Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS only (we know Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie isn't due until Summer, 2013).

okay how can an LG device employ a samsung SoC?the fact that both manufacturer's flagship devices would go head to head next year only exacerbates the problem. This rumor suggests that LG somehow bought or licensed or some shit, those SoC's,why would samsung sell it's SoC to LG?their galaxy line gets their premier SoC's,why will they mess this up?this is a bullshit rumor, totally untrue.

well, for one it's Sony here we're talking about and not LG.

And second, doesn't Apple use Samsung made chips? Aren't they the best friends ever too?

^^lol yeah its sony not lg,and a BIG,TOLD YOU SO!!!,anyway apple doesn't use exynos, their relationship is different...
