Hi guys
How is this riouter? Its abt 1200 so found the price very attractive.Anyone ever used it? Cam someone suggest a good set of usb laptop speakers which shudnt be more tahn 2000.

If its just browsing, its fine but if there's any data transfer over wireless to another computer involved then 11b is horrible :p.

But anyway even its for sharing an internet connection, why go in for outdated tech? For the odd file swapping between computers 11mbps is going to be pain. Specially if the price diff. between 11b and 11g isnt that much.
 
What are you going to used the Wireless router for?
Only Sharing the Internet, or frequently transferring files over the Wireless LAN?
If its just sharing net, then 1200 is a great price.

Laptop speakers.. Dunno much about, you should go about and look for good ones.
I do think JBL has small satellites, but im not sure.
 
Well the altec lansing XT1s is there that runs off usb and requires no power. No clue how much it costs though... you might wanna check those out.
 
I mostly need it for the net connection. mm sorry if i sound daft but how long would a 300MB file take to transfer via this SMC router. I just need a ballpark figure

Well at optimum range that could take anywhere between 10-15 mins.
 
@wolfff - i dont click on each members name & check their info before replying. it doesnt mention anywhere so i assumed its a guy.

anyways this info was usefull for me too. & how much does a wireless card for pc cost & which brand.

@ Storm - I just found out prices for a D-Link PCI Wi-Fi card for deejay.

He picked it in Lammy for 1.3k
 
^^Is it 11b or 11g? I thought an 11g card was around 2k. Also anish rmr that dlinks don't work in linux... if compatibility is required.

dont look back.
get the best at tht time in the market is more reasonable than goin for outdated stuffs.
get the netgear wrt45g or somrthin like tht whose firmwire is can be flashed to 3rd party ones unlike vmware :p.
