As promised, Xperia X Compact has been made available in select European markets. While some retailers are taking pre-orders with contract options, Carphone Warehouse in the U.K. has commenced selling the device.
There is no official word from Sony on when the Xperia X Compact will be available in India, but the company is likely to make an announcement in this regard by this month end or early October, as the flagship Xperia X and Xperia Z5 Premium series have failed to garner interest in price conscious Indian market. Mid-range Xperia X Compact, which houses feature-rich hardware, is more likely to get traction in the country, provided the device is appropriately priced.
Xperia X Compact comes with top-notch camera hardware. It boasts 23MP with 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, predictive hybrid auto focus, quick launch (less than 0.03 seconds), 5x clear image zoom, 24mm wide-angle G Lens F2.0 aperture and Pulse LED flash.
On the front, Xperia X Compact features a 5MP snapper having 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS mobile image sensor.
Other stipulated features include 4.6-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 650 hexa-core CPU backed by 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory and a 2,700mAh battery.
