fellas looking for a good scanner.
no AIO's, already have a printer.
Standalone scanner, which will be able to do text scanning so that i can use ocr soft to convert.
Any suggestions?

IMHO AIOs are good.

It works like a back up printer when the one used is down.

BTW, hps has good products for 3k

Stand alone, i don't know.

i think hps are quite reliable .. my old one is still going strong after 5 years

if it is for professional purpose UMAX is the way to go. They build excellent quality scanners.

If personal purpose is main use you can opt for HP as they also build very good scnners.

Chose largest (in paper size you can afford) also try to avoid ultra slim models.

BTW : A question :
for what purpose you need to OCR, i am also right now digitizing my documents through help of ocr software and and HP AIO. Do you mind sharing a few tips and trick online in IMs?

I recently bought an HP AIO for 4k... they had another 370p lower model for 3.7k.... I also saw a BenQ for 1.8k which was just a scanner with USB 2.0 support.... Rest I dont know how good it is.
