Requirements :-

1. Fax
2. Flatbed scanner - good quality scans in both color and mono
3. Network enabled (optional, but an advantage)
4. low running cost for SOHO use
5. Budget: 15k max
6. Preferably (mono) laser; will consider Inkjet if #4 and #5 satisfies well.

Mostly for home use - good quality book/documents scans, affordable high-quality text printouts and overall low running costs (cost/page, toner/ink refills, drum/head etc).

Print speed doesn't matter. Preferred brands are - HP, Canon, Brother.

Purchased HP OfficeJet 6318 for 12.5k, plus 2k more for a total of 3-years extended warranty. Text print quality is very good, and everything works just fine, including the flatbed scanner and fax. It also reads many types of memory cards and supports direct printing.

I would've bought Canon PIXMA MP830, if it was priced sensibly in this country. In this age and century, we're not supposed to pay 2x the price Yankees get away with, are we?

nice guys, btw any idea wht kinda resolutions are u guys talking about for the flat-bed scanner at those insane prices?

I saw some Ads of some MFP's at around 5k (perhaps with inkjet/laser printer) & perhaps Network was not there (but then again how much would it be to integrate a 10/100 chipset with an ethernet socket) not much I think. would love to hear from u guys :)
