Dude, a VX550 is an overkill even if he considers getting two 5770's.

@op
If you are going to get yourself a 24" FullHD monitor, better get an HD5850 then two HD5770's
And as for the PSU, get a Corsair VX450 for ~3.6k

Although HD5770 would suffice your gaming needs as you mentioned, but still as you have the budget for it you should go for HD5850, you will then be able to run all games at plenty of eyecandy enabled.

Thanks both for suggestions. However except for monitor I don't think my bro will spend money on. Also 5850 is almost 6k more. will go by 5770.

Only ques is should I go for MSI Hawk or Sapphire ? Also don't we have Corsair RAM ( I am happy with my XMS3).

Till now the config is -

CPU / MOBO : i5 750 + gigabyte p55us3l @ 16000

RAM : 4 gb kingston ddr3 @ 5000 / 4GB GSkill / ( Not sure how much corsair XMS3 would cost)

HDD : WD 500gb x 2 @2000

CABINET : cooler master 335 + 1 blue led @ 2400

PSU corsair : VX 550 @ 4500

GPU : msi hawk 5770 hd / Sapphire 5770 @ 9500

HS : CM Hyper 212 plus + 2 extra fans

Components Description Price (INR)
Processor AMD Phenom II X2 555BE(3.2Ghz, 2 cores, 6MB L3 Cache)/ PhenomII X4 945(3.2Ghz, 2 cores, 6MB L3 Cache) 4900/7000
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-785GMT-USB3 5600
RAM 4(2*2GB) 1333MHz Kingston DDRIII RAM 5200
HDD 500 GB WD Blue 2100
GPU MSI HD5770 HAWK 1GB GDDR5 9600
Cabinet NZXT Gamma/CM Elite 335 2100
PSU/SMPS Corsair VX450/ CM Real Power Pro 460w 3750/3550

ODD L.G. GH22NS50 OEM SATA DVD-Writer 1000
Total 35125/38125

Go for the HD5770 Hawk. Its more than enough for the monitor u have. Even with a 24" its pretty decent at HD resolution with most games and u does exceedingly well if u are willing to play at less than HD resolution.

Seeing that you are not ready to O.C i am not sure whether you would go with a CF setup. So i would say keep the HD5770 till it serves your purpose and go for an GPU upgrade 2 years down the line. Go for the PII 555BE if u are willing to gamble on unlock.(Even without unlocking its a very good gaming proccy with its high clock rate and large L3 cache)

But as u have the budget and if you are not willing to try to unlock(80% success rate) u can also go for a quad X4 945BE.

Asus has few tempting boards at 6k range with SB850(SATA 3.0) and USB 3.0 but the poor after sales service of Asus is stopping me from recommending those boards. i would recommend Gigabyte as they have good reliablilty and better after sales service.

Edit: The 4GB XMS3 kit costs 6.4k. Its a solid 1k increase. As you dont O.C i have recommended value RAM. Instead you can get Corsair Value RAM's for 2.8k(2GB 1333MHz DDRIII)

DA think he was looking for a Intel based solution ... just change the above config with a Intel Core i3 530 or i5 750 along with a GA-P55-US3L, price should almost similar depending on the pros you are going for ... get the 750 if you want to be a bit more future proof the dual core i3's should be able to handle most of the current gen games.

Oops missed that. :( @OP: Any particular reasons for being anti-AMD? They offer slighlty better value at low-mid range.

i-3 530 with Gigabyte H-55-UD2H ~ 11.3k
i-750 with Gigabyte H-55-UD2H / Gigabyte P55-US3L ~ 15.7-16.2k

go for msi hawk ! its really nice !

plus as you dont overclock or crossfire go for vx450 psu !

and hyper 212+ is a really good choice !

and go for h55-ud2h as no cf is needed !

Hi DA, I am not anti-AMD :) . I worked for that client for 4 years :p (Hope Judy is not seeing this)

It's a preference by ..hmm.. maybe thoughts. I have always had my rigs on Intel so just continuation.

So do you suggest that AMD would be a better config. I don't want to play gamble .. so no ques of 555

For your needs the AMD PhenomII X4 945 rig would suffice plus u get USB 3.0 ports a bonus :) You also end up paying ~3.5k less compared to the Intel quad.
If u gonna O.C and do heavy desktop processing then may be the i-5 750 (But thats not the case here)
There are many gamers in TE with AMD PhenomII X4 and are very satisfied with what they got :)
