Kindly pl. refer to this thread - http://www.techenclave.com/graphic-cards/major-problem-with-xfx-8800gtx-184176.html

My Ram is ok , even bought a new GPU , but still pc won't boot.

My Mobo XFX 650i Ultra bought in Aug 07 , 3yr. warranty over from Rashi Peripherals , had already RMA the board in late 09. I have no idea whether this board can be repaired in Nehru Place.

I'm looking for good and not too expensive replacement for this board. Pl. suggest.

So far I have come across these options.

1. Gigabyte G31-ES2L

2. Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo

wats ur budget?
if ur budget permits, get a P45 chipset based mobo from MSI, Gigabyte or Asus.
The cheapest ones sud be bout 5k
No point in spending so much on a LGA775 mobo.
@OP - The Giga G31 is excellent for OC (Many TE members have it) Not sure how good the G41 Combo is for OC. Since you have clocked your CPU pretty high go with the G31.

Joy, like I posted yesterday go ahead with the G31-ES2L. This board served me as a temporary replacement for the previous X38 board which went for RMA and I ended up using it until I sold the system a few weeks back. Overclocking with this board was a walk in the park. The only flaw was I couldn't set the PCI-E frq. at a predefined value and boot the system. Thus, I had to keep that setting at Auto. Not sure if a later BIOS update addressed this issue but otherwise the board is very stable.

@DarkAngel

G41 from Asus are also good for OC. I have tried one :)

Not so much into heavy OC atm , just need a stable rock solid mobo.

Is there much difference between G31 and G41 chipset ?

What a f**king joke !!!

I replaced my CMOS battery and it has booted , I realized this now. :cursing:
