Suggestions for Multimeter

Hi Guys,

Any suggestions for a good multi-meter for around 1000 rs? The Mastech ones in Amazon any good? the reviews are horrible. Fluke 101 does not have current measuring capability and higher models are way above my budget.

what are you measuring? do you want multimeter or clamp meter?

Look at the MECO ones. Go to shops. Amazon is over priced for these meters. I bought one of those DT220 or something for 150 rupees which is being sold at 230 on Amazon. The leads broke though.

I wouldn't need a clamp meter, it is just for measuring current in DC circuits < 12V, <2A mostly. I had that yellow cheap 150 one, its calibration broke and doesn't give correct readings anymore, i have to buy a new one so thought may be i can get something a little better.[DOUBLEPOST=1542599906][/DOUBLEPOST]
Aneng AN302 is my primary multi-meter these days:

For measuring current, I use another 150.Rs multi-meter:

Thanks for the suggestion, let me check that.

If you need to continuously measure current, I would suggest to install a dedicated ammeter something like:
Digital: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/32814017487.html
Analog: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/32934674324.html

PS: Aneng AN302 can not measure current.

It is mostly for debugging circuits so i wouldn't need continuous measurement, but it is good to know such things exist I was looking at Aneng, there is one model AN8008 which has current measurement too..but i am wary of spending 1500 on a Chinese thing..wondering how reliable it is in the long run. How long have you been using yours?

If budget is a constraint, why not buy an analog one. They cost around 500 and do the job fine. The cheap digital ones are trash, not to say unsafe if you are dealing with high voltage.

I have many multi meters but always keep an analog one.

That is interesting, i am ok with analog too, can you recommend one? Can a single device measure resistance, voltage and current? Sorry, i haven't used analog before.

This is the one I have

https://www.amazon.com/Sunwa-8-Function-19-Range-Multimeter-YX360-TRE-B/dp/B000P7F666/

I have had it for about 5 years, used occasionally. IIRC, I paid about 5-600 for it in SP Road (Bangalore). The second pic will give you an idea of what all it can do.

I must admit I haven't used all the functions, mostly volts (AC/DC), cont, and resistance. I have a hard time reading the dials because of deteriorating eyesight.

This looks promising, I have to check if it is available locally. Let me try that. Thanks sir.
