DarkAngel,
Just a quick question.

My Home PC is powering off on its own. As in once I boot up it would automatically power off in 30 minutes. If my younger brother starts playing a game the power off happens within 10 minutes.

The system has AMD Athlon Processor, Biostar Motherboard, 2gb ddr2 ram.

Any hints as so what might be the problem?

Thanking you,

Thanking you,

What is your RIG configuration [apart from what you have mentioned], does it have a decent SMPS?

Check for physical damage to the motherboard, if it has electrolytic capacitors they might have overheated and burst. Here is what they look like --

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

Alpha,

The detailed configuration is as follows -

AMD Athlon II X2 240

Biostar TA785GE 128 MB Sideport
Kingston 2 GB DDR2 8ooMhz
Seagate 250GB SATAII 7200.12 Series
Sony DVD-RW

The SMPS is the one that came with the Zebronics case. Case with power supply cost me around 1000 rupees. Must not be a good one then?

I will report back tomorrow about the electrolytic capacitors.

Thank you for your help,
