Randy Pausch was a Carnegie Mellon University professor who suffered from pancreatic cancer. He died yesterday (25th July).

He gave a famous lecture on what he would like to tell the generation of today if he was to give a last lecture (ironically- as he suffered from a terminal disease). This "Last Lecture" was a series of lectures by many notable people which also included Randy Pausch.
From wikipedia
Pausch delivered his "Last Lecture," titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," at CMU on September 18, 2007.This talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical "final talk," i.e., "what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance?"

Before speaking, Pausch received a long standing ovation from a large crowd of over 400 colleagues and students. When he motioned them to sit down, saying, "Make me earn it," some in the audience shouted back, "You did!"

Here is the video of that speech.

All I can say is R.I.P. :(

He succumbed finally.

I watched his lecture a few months back, its something truly inspiring. His lecture on time management is awesome as well.

R.I.P Randy :(

RIP Randy...

i loved the lecture... it seriously tells you the way to life.. i think everyone should watch it.. absolutely inspiring

RIP Randy Pausch! I am sad that he succumbed to his cancer, he lived a good life and he was an inspiration to many :(

When i saw his last lecture it gave me chills, it helped put life back in perspective for a while. This man was facing death and he was still smiling and trying to live a full life, not being afraid or cribbing about how unfair it all was... RIP.

Though I've never heard of him before, i was really drawn into the talk. His presentation skills add spice to the speech. Repped ya for the find:)
