'The Last of Us', the very critically acclaimed PS3 exclusive game has now crossed 3.4 million in worldwide sales. It has only been three and a half weeks since the game has launched, and the number of 3.4 million is very impressive indeed for an exclusive console game, especially. Shuhei Yoshida, who is SCE Worldwide Studios' boss, has also praised Naughty Dog's game and how well it is doing, and according to Eurogamer, The Last of Us has also now become this year's fastest selling game.
Shuhei Yoshida also had some words to say about the same, "These sales figures are a testament to the blockbuster quality of The Last of Us. The teams at Naughty Dog are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. SCE continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example."
The game has held the top spot now on the UK charts a consecutive 4 weeks now, and may well continue here for a while. According to Eurosports' report, the game is also doing better than previous Naughty Dog games - Uncharted : Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves.
