Thermal pad / tape cannot be acquired here in India, you will have to hit sites like --

FrozenCPU
Amazon.com
newegg

for such specialist paraphernalia.

Also which graphics card do you have? What is the rest of the configuration and which SMPS is powering your RIG?

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

What contact are you referring too?

The SMPS to graphics card, PCIe power cable OR the contact between the heat-sink and the RAM chips on the card?

If you will use such SMS shorthand how are we to make any sense out of it?

i think thermal pads are available in lamington. only con is they might be some cheapo chinese stuff and might damage more than instead of doing any good.

How did that cause a spike in temperatures of the graphics card. You would not have got any display if this was the situation.
I was getting display which was choppy... like small white boxes while the comp was booting... and dotted white line in safe mode, i assumed my temp where too high.

Okay, I hope things have been sorted out after you reseated the card in PCIe slot.
