Basically what I have understood is : AIY is a hackable Google home.
Some Google home hardware, + basic OS/software from google , all running on the pi. Add your own coding skills and you can make it do anything.
So since its easy to find hardware of all sorts for the PI, we can make anything voice controlled. Like controlling TV with voice, (after attaching an infrared device to the pi and aiy).
Unlimited possibilities! and so so cool.
Is also a fantastic thing to learn to code with.
