Ultraportable Laptop Buying Advice

I'm looking to buy a laptop in the coming month or so.

My requirements include general browsing, office work ( presentation making and stuff)... almost NO GAMING...

I want something which should be handy, sleek, should have 5-6 hrs battery life..

I'm primarily looking at 11" to 13" laptops. Budget is upto 40K.
I think 10" is too small & 14" and above make them big..

Currently I own Sony Vaio TZ17GN and am looking to replace it with something new.

I'm mostly eyeing:

Any 11" netbook ( SUGGESTIONS ??? )
Dell Vostro V13 ( Bad battery life.. only 2-3 hr )
Dell Latitude 13 ( not released in India yet )
Sony Vaio Y ( not released in India yet )

I'm not open to buying MSI or Acer or any other low grade laptops...

Let me know if I have any more options which fit my needs.

I guess a 13" would suit you good. There are a number of CULV based systems in the market.

I had seen a Lenovo U350 at Chroma for about 27k... Looked good but was running Vista:S. Check out it's reviews.

well i have following list in mind
1)Alienware M11X (if u have source from us u can get it for 799(around 40k$).. in india it cost around 66k)

2) Dell Vostro 3300 (not sure about the price in india)

3) Inspiron 13z

4) Vostro 1320

well i had decided to go for Alienware M11X... have to find some one from us to get this lappy
 
@DarkAngel : 13Z looks gud, but only concern is the processor. Lemme check out with Dell if anything can be done.. I mean it also has an option of SU7300...

@s_anuj: Never heard of U350 .. Lemme research on that. In the meantime, can you elaborate a little on what was the config on offer...

1. My aim is to have it as light as possible & also have good battery life..

2. Vostro 3300 is a little big for a 13 incher.

3. I'm looking at 13z for the moment.

4. It's pretty outdated now.. T6xxx processor( top end crosses my budget), DDR2, etc.

Moreover I would like it to not have an optical Drive...

Any idea about Sony Y ???? when is it coming to India...
 
The U350 had a CULV processor... Somewhere between a atom & the mainline proccys. 2GB & 250GB with a 720p led screen.

If you want performance, then look elsewhere. I was looking at systems for my wife (web, msoffice & some lightweight apps) & she loved the design & how thin it was. (ps: i finally bought the s10 tablet thou:eek:hyeah:)
