you dont need a i5 or let alone a i7 for gaming purposes no game and i mean no game use CPU these days if a dedicated GPU is present unless you do video editing or encoding or some cpu intensive stuff a core i3 with 4 cores is all you will ever need for gaming PC and buy from india since none of the products you will get warranty in india if something goes wrong even intel changed their international warranty policy in india from april this year also there isnt much margin on these entry level components maybe except GPU if they can get it from there rx 480s are retailing for 17k plus shipping their thats the only thing where youll save some money compared to india rest of the stuff maybe 400-500 bucks at best buying from US would have its advantages if you were buying a 1070 1080 or a titan i mean on titan margin is of 44k holy smokes lemme know if you need more help

PS i used 2 980ti's with my i3 2120 and still the only thing getting bottlenecked was my GPU's under heavy load of 1440p or 4k gaming

Hey @Skynet! Thanks For the Suggestion!.. the thing is along with gaming i also do a lot of encoding/rendering of Videos on Premiere Pro and stuff

Its true i wont be having warranty here in India..But the Difference in Price is quite Significant on cpu/gpu/mobo ...Tempted to take the Risk

Lets See, Rx 480's are quite scarce, for a descent price point. also could you suggest a descent Monitor here in India ??

Thanks.

well apart from GPU i dont think you would save any significant cost intel's price are pretty similar in india as a person who buys Xeon and other intel CPUs a lot i could say its not worth the effort however GPUs are a different story sometimes we are able to source GPUs directly from the importer thus eliminating the middle man costs which are the main reasons of price escalation in india anyways i have also suffered from products DOA and then the shipping cost incurred in them nullified any price benefit we got from importing them so think about this aspect too so only if someone is regularly visiting US in your family or you are ready to incur shipping costs to US i would suggest you dont buy them imho its simply not worth the trouble average cost of shipping to and from from US is 7k for a parcel of 1kg factor the total cost see if the overall price benefit is above 7k

Update!

So I went Ahead and Bought the XFX RX480 8GB and i5 6600 (not a big diff in price to 6500) ..will be here in India by 1st Nov
Damages - 424$ (Rs. 28408)

Now that the 2 most expensive parts for the Rig are bought....Need Suggestions for the Other Components, especially the Monitor/motherboard/PSU

motherboard
  • MB - Asus B150 plus-8500,
since you're not overclocking the 6600 as its a locked chip

psu

PSU - Corsair VS550-3400

monitor is more a choice of aesthetics and type you like personally i like IPS matte displays with better color reproduction but lower refresh rate you can go for TN panels they are good choice not the best at color but have really good refresh rate good for competitive gaming.
