Watches Cleaning Thread.

Ask questions and share tips for cleaning watches, watchstraps etc.

I had to clean my Maxima Ego today as it had that green stuff (verdigris) on the rim, under the straps. I used an old toothbrush and some Min cream to clean it and removed like 90% of that disgusting stuff. I'll try with vinegar next when time permits and try to eradicate it completely.

Update (took me long enough):

Kept the watch in vinegar for some time and cleaned it with toothbrush. No green stuff but also lost some color in that area because of verdigris.

You kept the whole watch in Vinegar?? Wasn't it damaged?

Just the bottom part, but I could've kept it whole under vinegar without any problems.

Is that Maxima watch made of a Copper alloy? Brass or Bronze? Because that is the only thing that can explain the Verdigris.
Can you post some pictures of that particular watch?
