Storage Solutions WD Hard Drive arrives without packaging :|

Today I got the WD20EZRX 2TB internal hard drive that I ordered from Amazon.in. Oddly, there was no official packaging. The only packaging was this anti-static cover protected under a load of bubble wrap in the box. There was no official WD box or anything like that.

Here's the Amazon link to the drive: http://www.amazon.in/Western-Digita...=UTF8&qid=1402120735&sr=8-1&keywords=wd20ezrx

Have I been cheated, or is this normal? Have they sent me a refurbished unit or something?

On a different note, is it better to pick these or 3TB Seagate HDDs for 7K? I guess those are 7.2k rpm drives. Might be building a NAS.

Dont worry mate. Just make sure you check its serial no. & warranty on WD website and register your product.
Sellers ship the products as is without any extra packaging unless asked for. I hope they should at least care for such delicate things...

It is a standard packing for an internal drive. Even if you are getting a drive from a local shop, you will get one like this only!

Hi Kvikram,

Thank you for highlighting this issue. For your information WD internal drives come with only ESD (Electrostatic discharge) packing cover.

There is no official WD box for internal Drives. Just make sure you check its serial no. & warranty on WD website and register your product.
