What exactly is Government of India doing?

India is reeling under unemployment/ poverty/
alr hunger/ hopelessness.
It was under lockdown 10 days ago and the virus is still very much there.
Of course for a large country like India, the effects won't be seen simultaneously at all places.
Wait for 6 weeks, will see how competently centre has tackled things.
Of course media won't/ can't tell you everything, neither do the 300 Chrome tabs.
Visit any large hospital located in Delhi/ Mumbai/Kolkata ( don't go to Ahmedabad), you will never have to ask uncle Google about India's situation.
India's first case was Jan 30 or around the same time as most western countries.

Four months later, with all the better infrastructure most of them were reeling.

How much more time do you want ?

Other than 3 states the rest of the coutry is holding and will manage the unlock as well.

We also know why the deaths happened, a complete lack of critical care. Why isn't this the case in other states.

Management !!

So you're admitting your leader is the equivalent of a disability mocking, pussy-grabbing, immature, divisive leader who sleeps with pornstars and walks into girls changing rooms who also dismisses any valid criticisms by labelling them as fake news and opposition conspiracies while his dumb followers who've been duped with nationalistic rhetoric continue to believe he's on their side just because Q-Anon told them so ?
Talk about shooting own goals lol
Modi supporters and trump supporters get along well. Didn't you know that.

Trump, Bolsonaro, Johnson. Modi, ScoMO, Abe all on the right.

Get help for your MDS.

Lmao more own goals.
Scott Morrison is the most hated person in Australia because of the way he handled the fires and Bolsonaro because of the way he has dealt with Covid, heck the govt. under him also stopped publishing statistics as of yesterday.
You mean to say that all idiots are on the right ?

I'm saying its a good time to be a right winger. There is a good rapport between all those leaders which is a good thing for the country.

Who cares about the haters. Stick to the winners :)

Well we've learnt you do not even understand what TDS means

Both of them are failing badly but what about PM CARES?? Does he really care?

Well, when we ventilate patients, we are accused of being using mechanical ventilation too early. When we wait, and the patient dies, it is complete lack of critical care. I agree, in some cases in India, there is lack of critical care, BUT many patients in Europe/US actually died with best possible critical care set ups. I personally put a young patient through ECMO for 12 days. We were supporting everything ( ventilation/dialysis/ vasopressors/ECMO) yet he died of a massive posterior circulation stroke ( I do not know of any critical care facility which can take care of ponto-medullary functions from outside)
People are dying because we do not have a cure for this virus.
Let me tell you one thing ( uncle Google won`t be able to tell you this) Critical Care medicine is basically extremely glorified symptomatic management ( other than bacterial sepsis few cardiac emergencies, very few neurological emergencies)
I/ we/ 56incher do not decide the timeline buddy, it is the damn virus who does. And sadly for India, it now has a vast susceptible population to infect and kill and unfortunately India can not go back to lockdown when this thing peaks.

This is Czech Republic's site where anyone can enter and look for any statistical data.
Anyone can request for the raw data, they are not hiding anything.
Please use Google translate if don't read Czech.

Did you guys hear anything about any 3rd party involvement ( outside epidemiologists) in relation to Dharavi?
2 of my friends worked really hard on that area and AFAIK the situation is slightly better there.
I couldn't understand the extremely complex maps of that area and passed it up to two seniors who have dealt with urban slums in central/ south America before.
They are still officially working for WHO and are not supposed to take any private assignments.
Did I leak any names by mistake here?

@red dragon Do you think we have started with community transmission?
What is the criteria to determine the same? Is non traceability of contact, number of fatalities only criteria to say if a region is going through phase 3?

Thanks for your time.

According to textbooks a single case in a community where you can not find the contact who infected the case is considered community transmission ( there are some minor ifs and buts in the definition and I'm trying to put it in a very simple language)
Personally I think India has entered that stage ( at least Mumbai/ Delhi/ Ahmedabad/Jaipur/ Kolkata) in May.
In a disease which is highly infectious and a significant portion of the infected is asymptomatic, community transmission usually occurs within 6-8 weeks of index case ( if no intervention)
AFAIK India's first diagnosed case came out in last week of January and the lockdown ( first intervention) was announced on 3rd/4th week of March. So during early lockdown the possibility of community transmission was very low.
However due to inadequate planning, contact tracing for the most part of the lockdown ( not blaming anyone in particular here, it was a collective failure) things got really complicated.

The central government (ICMR chief Mr. Bhargava) states there is no community transmission, so just wanted to clear the air.

I remember AIIMS chief did mention on NDTV that community transmission has already began. Why all the secrecy??

Dr. Bhargava though a very smart guy, is probably a cardiologist/ cardiac surgeon. He was my first contact with ICMR. He doesn`t know anything about epidemiology, but has to give statements as prompted by Mr. 56 incher and his health ministry to save his job. Please understand he also has a family to feed and the current central power in India openly threatens these people.
Dr. Bhargava was literally hiding till 2nd week of May to avoid these things ( he is an honest person and not easily corruptible unlike most other ICMR officials)

Add this to efforts of Indian Govt for mitigating COVID19 :

Bhai aap UP ki baat hi mat Karo.. Uska aalag hi swag hai!!!

Precisely...the lockdown which broke the economy, did nothing but prolonged the misery of people. If a country can not trace less than 1000 cases under lockdown, what else can be expected? If 56 incher had any good intention, he should bring in some people from outside for hands on training for the doctors, nurses and paramedics.
community medicine has become a cruel joke for India.
