Up until now, WhatsApp had a two-tier message delivery visual feedback: one grey check when the message is delivered to the WhatsApp servers and two checks when it successfully reaches the other person's phone. Unlike BBM, you had no way of knowing whether the person on the other end actually read the message. You could speculate based on their Last Seen timing, but you couldn't be sure. Now you can. When the grey checks turn blue, the other person has actually opened the app and read your message.

WhatsApp also added the ability to enter an "information screen" of each message separately, allowing the sender to see time at which the message was sent, received and read.

As can be found in the app's , group chat and broadcast messages are also impacted by this change. If the message was sent in a group, it is now possible to see who has read it and when. All you need to do is press and hold the message itself, and then click "i."

Hopefully whatsapp+ should come out with something. I'm not updating to newer version anytime soon since I can hide my online status with the current version :D
