Which PHP FORUM system for Mobile Platform ?

Dear Friends,

I need to build a User Support FORUM for a company which must work with mobile devices and mobile browsers.

Actually, in this support site, 80% users will come thru mobile devices. Not from desktop pc.
Can you please suggest me which PHP based Forum system should I choose ?
FREE or FEE both will work as long as its one time fee and can be customized.
We will be doing heavy customization with it with custom front-end etc.
So, core platform can not be changed in future, so need ur suggestion.

phpBB is pain in the arse to work with. MyBB is almost like a free vBulletin but lacks good mods and plugins.

SMF would be my choice and suggestion for you.

For these two reasons alone, I would suggest you build a a simple forum based on php, using a framework like CakePhp. Its very easy, if you know php coding & it won't take more than a week and results will be far better than using a existing solutions available in market
 
I suggest you check out drupal's inbuilt forum and install the mobile theme available on the contributed themes section.
