PC Peripherals Which Stacker to get?

Well, I'll be in Delhi in about 10 days from now. A decent cabinet currently tops
my wish-list. I also had a look at VIP ZB01, Zebronics Server cases and even
CaseTek CK-1018-1A which is being sold as Power-X 21 by Active Infocom.
CaseTek is the OEM for most of the ThermalTake cabinets like Xaser III. Mr.
Tarun Gandhi of Active Infocom quoted 4800/- + tax + freight for this case.

But, Stacker is something that can't be ignored so easly. SMC currently stocks
Stacker RC-810 (ATX) and RC-820 (BTX). I'm not sure if they have the original
Stacker STC-T01. They supposendly have a demo version of the unreleased
Stacker 830, which according to them costs 15500/-. I never liked the 830
project anyway. And its pricing is worse than its looks, IMHO. ;)

My options are Stacker STC-T01, if it' available in first place, and RC-810.
RC-810 has dual-120mm fans on the rear and loses the top PSU mount space.
Is the bottom PSU mount any problematic with Antec PSUs? I'm getting Antec
TP2550EPS 550W EPS power supply to accompany the Stacker.

I like 2 120mm fans on the rear, but the original Stacker has only 1. Also, I
won't ever need dual-PSUs, which is in the case of STC-T01.

Suggestions please.

Looks like an amazing rig you seem to be building there ;-) . Antec TP 2.0 550, Stacker, and what else??

Anyway, looking at your needs, I suggest you go for the 810. As you say, you do not really need dual PSUs and you need an extra 120mm exhaust. So, I guess the 810 will be better for you.

What is the pricing of that ??

So, the bottom PSU mount will not be a problem? Is the +12V 4/8-pin cable
long enough to reach the top left corner of the A8N32-SLI Deluxe (Yes, I am
getting one) from the bottom of a Stacker?

I currently have a Colors-It server cabinet with Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU.
Since it's only a normal top PSU mount case design, I don't have a clue what
problems I may have to face with a bottom mount design.

Any word from Stacker/P180 owners?

EDIT: SMC quoted 10,300/- for the 810 (Black). And I'm also getting an XFX 6800GS once it arrives there.
I've also contacted ASUS India for A8N32-SLI Deluxe, and they assured me that I would get a piece.

Hi, 810 is good cabinet. Bottom mounting of PSU wont have any problem except 1 thing. the PSU cables must be long for smoe motherboards. Specially the ATX and aux 12v connectors. Because they have to reach all the way to the top of the motherboard from bottom of the case.

Powersafe didnt fit. Dont know about the TP2 550. Ahould fit from what i have heard. The coolermaster PSUs have extra long cables for this same reason to be compatiable with their stacker. The new Zebronics also fits.

Get a crossflow fan to go along with the canbinet. Thats all you need. :)

Sorry to disappoint you people, but I've dropped the idea of going for a new
desktop machine. I had originally planned for a Stacker, ASUS A8N32-SLI DLX,
AMD X2 and 6800GS to upgrade my current machine. Unfortunately, when I
went to SMC to see the Stackers in personal, they turned out to be the older
(original) Stackers, not the 810s. SMC also told me that X2 3800+ would be
available before 15th, and that it would cost 19k. They also expected A8N32
to become available for sales before 15th. Pricing should be around 15k.

No new desktop for me now, I'll probably upgrade when new and better AMD
dual-cores arrive, and with better prices. But it's not that I didn't buy anything.
I purchased an IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad R52 instead. I had to pay 67k for the model
1860-A33. It's really a VERY nice machine, and also comes with a biometric
fingerprint security scanner, found in only high-end T series ThinkPads.
The default confiuration is:
ThinkPad R52 (1860A33)

·Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology
-Intel® Pentium® M Processor 750
(1.86GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
-Intel® PRO/Wireless Network
-Connection 802.11b/g
·Windows® XP Professional
·Intel® 915 GM Chipset
·256MB PC2 4200 DDR2 533MHz SDRAM
·80GB HDD with Shock Absorber & Active Protection System
·DVD-CD/RW Combo Drive
·Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900
·One Express Card slot
·Client Security Solution
·Bluetooth
·Modem, Gigabit Ethernet
·Integrated Fingerprint Reader
·UltraNAV (TouchPad + TrackPoint)
·38.1 cms (15 inches) TFT monitor
·3-year customer carry-in global warranty

I'll add a 1GB SODIMM memory module very soon. At factory settings, with
tons of programs loaded, it computes Super PI 2M in 1:41 minutes flat. That's
pretty nice I think. It also comes with features not found in many expensive
laptops currently available. Overall, it's a nice business-class machine, way
better than Acer, HP, Compaq, Toshiba and Sony, when it comes to build
quality and value-for-money. Sadly, it doesn't come with any CDs/DVDs, not
even with WinXP Pro install CD. But there's an option to burn a hidden partition,
which allows the user to reset the machine to factory settings any time, to a
set of CDs or DVDs. The hidden partiton can't be seen from WinXP until a
BIOS setting is changed.

Most of my fellow members may not like the on-board GMA900 graphics, but
ThinkPads are designed with business users in mind, not gamers. And I'm not
a gamer, if you don't take into account the AOE-II. And the GMA900 is more
than enough for this.

I'm too lazy to write a formal review, but I'll answer any questions regarding
my new shiny ThinkPad R52. :hap2:

Well coming to the PSU shouldn't be a prob cause these PSU's can be used in a P180 also....and that has a crappy style for the PSU which makes fittment harder....
Now coming to the stacker...you could also consider the P180...I went for this because I didn't want flashy which I feel belongs in a dame's **** (no offense modders);)

But the cooling of both models is good...the P180 is very silent however and ideally suited to playing DOOM 3, VTMB after dark, with the lights off... I find that extra blue lighting causes problems with focusing on the game (blue seems to be a color favored by most cases these days, even red is jarring....only green is OK..
If u want quiet, cool and sophisticated urbane go with the P180...if u want hot, screaming....whooosh...go with the stacker....

PS both are good.....both cool well, build qual excellent.. (antec may have an edge with that last one)...
cheers on your buy...
