Hi,

I installed Windows 7 Beta 7057 Build x86 yesterday and ran the test for Windows Experience Index.

The results are surprising I guess.

Take a loot at it.

My Config is : E6300, 7900 GS, 4 GB RAM.

Any thoughts ?

Why did u select x86? i guess X64 would yeild u better results, since it can harness ur 64 bit archi of ur proccy very well. I am sureE7300 is much more capable :)

Unlike Vista, where top score is 5.9, the top score in Windows 7 goes to 7.9
Also in windows 7 ,the results are based on the rated specifications of each component, not on their actual performance history in the scanned PC
Consider this your score seems pretty low.
I think just ignore it :) and blame it on the beta version that windows 7 is.

lol win 7 is crazy..

gave me a rating of 7.5 for my processor and its a core i7 940 @ 3 ghz. LOL

My wd 640 AAKS got a 6.0 and same with my gaming graphics score. This was with a 1GB palit 4870.

so win7 beta is to blame and not your machine.

relax bro :)

Have you tried rerunning it? Sometimes people run large tasks at the same time and then wonder why the test results were bad. Make sure to run the test by itself.

yep .. i have run over 10 times..

even i was shocked and thought it could be some background tasks that were ruining my score.

but no such luck..same ratings every single time.

Also i do check my processor usage before i launch the test to make sure system is idle with 0% cpu usage .

Win 7 is beta is a little wonky !! :)

suddenly 'Windows Experience Index' is the new benchmark standard here

dont understand the necessity of rating from 1.0-5.9/7.9 ..odd.
seems like MS is planning better OS in recent future which will rate in normal 1.0-10.0 scale...if this is what it is about.
