Hello there,
I got this Xbox 360 console with 60 GB HDD in the summer of 2010 from Australia (Its PAL region FYI), got it the dvd drive soft modded.(please search Google for more info on a softmodded dvd drive). Had the drive repaired roughly 2 years ago, Since then it's working like a charm.
I would also be happy to refer you to a Fellow TE member and local from IVG whose services I used to get the console soft-modded and DVD drive repaired. Excellent service and very reliable.
