Redmi Note 5 camera looks decent even when compared to Note 5 Pro. Is EIS an important thing when it comes to cameras ? From those last 2 videos, I wouldn't complain if someone invested in Note 5 than Note 5 Pro due to budget constraints. 6 inch is too much a screen size for people like me. That's almost a tablet and difficult to handle.

There was no demo of face recognition feature which Xiaomi was so keen to advertise

you bet it is. If you like blurry pics or videos, then any normal phone will do. I would get the EIS enabled Pro version because I have shaky hands. for some reason my heart beats go right through the phone and i get shaky pictures even if my entire body is still like a rock. i tired not breathing during taking pics, but it does not help. :(

is it dual volte?

When two SIM cards are used simultaneously, the primary SIM supports
4G+/4G/3G/2G calling and data while the secondary SIM supports only 3G calls.

What about carrier aggregation support?
What max lte speed?

From Qualcomm website: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-636-mobile-platform
CELLULAR MODEM X12 :
Peak Download Speed: 600 Mbps
Peak Upload Speed: 150 Mbps

Integrated 11ac Wi-Fi + WCN3980 companion chip - 1x1 802.11ac with MU-MIMO Peak Speed: 364 Mbps
Bluetooth 5 - Peak Speed 2 Mbps

Naturally, what speeds you get will depend on the tower congestion and distance and who your data provider is.

EIS = Electronic Image Stabilization. Means the camera output is stabilized through software and not hardware. It crops the picture from all 4 sides to make it look like the picture is stabilized.

OIS = Optical Image Stabilization. It means, the lens is able to move and stabilize itself while taking pictures. OIS is much better but harder to implement than EIS. This gives full picture without any cropping since lens themselves move.

The iPhone 6 and later models have OIS i think.

Video showing difference between EIS on Pixel and OIS on iPhone 7. Just looking at the video, you can see how much picture is cropped from all four sides in the Pixel compare to the iPhone. Cropping gives effect of zooming here.

EIS vs OIS explained.

Problem is xiaomi is extremely opaque about this.

yeah, that happened to me during the redmi note 4 sale. it was in cart and when i went to press pay button it disappeared saying error. i refreshed it and it was saying out of stock. next sale the item was in the cart before hand but couldn't do anything becuase - lets face it, same story. Stock is over in less than one second. At least let me press the button dammit.

if you don't remove the phone from the cart it stays in cart forever. lol. like we can do anything with it. can't even buy it.

maybe they allow flipkart first customers to buy the phone first before sale starts like amazon gives 30 minutes headstart to amazon prime customers? any flipkart first customers here?
