umm, actually if you go higher resolution, the HD6970 leads due to sheer power and 2GB frame buffer
 
Go wid HIS HD6950 1 GB... If u can spend a bit more then i wud suggest u to buy HD6950 2GB... Coz HD6950 2GBs are unlockable into HD6970... :) U can grab a HIS HD6950 2GB for as low as 16.2k...
 
My pick would be HD6950 2GB as the recent batches are easily unlockable to HD6970 and grab a HIS HD6950 from our own TE dealers Purnam Technologies !!

I would leave the 6870 out.

The 560Ti~= 6950 1GB < 6950 2GB (considering the shader unlock).

I would suggest the 6950 2GB.
If you don't want to spend that bit extra, either of the 6950 1GB or the 560 Ti should work OK.

Between those two, it's a toss up. You can decide which brand/features you prefer.
The 6950 1GB has slightly better performance and Eyefinity support and lower power consumption.
The 560Ti is smaller, quiter, lower temperatures, slightly more stable driver and physx support.

Also mention which cabinet do u have? Coz HD6950 is a huge card (10.5")... it wont b able to fit if u have a small cabby... :)

Go for the AMD 6950 1GB as I am risking a hunch you will not go over 1920 x 1080 while playing games (unless you plan Eyefinity), if you are a nVidia fanboy then the GTX 560 Ti (driver support is better + CUDA), in the power consumption department the AMD cards still hold out but run slightly hotter + if you want to Eyefinity on a budget then go for the AMD HD 6970 (I haven't heard any reports of current 6950 unlocking to 6970 for some time now so won't risk dissapointment).

The problem with the GTX 560 Ti is the price is horrendous at ~ 20K <Bangalore Golccha InterTrade, and this guy knows me well get good discounts>, doesn't justify its premium @performance.

yeah, but u know HD6950 has lower power consumption, and the current drivers are the best I've ever used in the past year, yeah even better than 10.12 or 10.3 for HD5k.

Analysis of nVidia drivers shows 0 performance improvement on cards over the past few releases(i'll post the link once I find it again). They keep promising 20-30% performance increase everytime, I've never seen 1%.

AMD promises lesser, like 3-7%, and there is actual gain.
