Congrats guys.. Awesome job, all of you..!

To the consolation prize winners and the other participants, kudos for taking part in the right spirit of the contest.. It was a tough job picking the winners. In the end, we feel we have done a reasonably good job in picking the winners after taking into due consideration all the factors.

. Looking at all the entries , especially considering the neat work of the guys with even simple cabinets I wasn't expecting to be in the top 3.

Thanks to all those who voted for me , the complete TE staff and #[member='Nikolain'] for sponsoring the prizes . I hope to get some better clocks on my Q6600 with the new cooler

Congratulations to all the participants in this competition, I learned a lot by observing your set-ups [especially the archaic ones].

Please start threads in the show-off section, I would like to see how the SVG air coolers perform.

Regards,

All the entries are so awesome. It would have been even more fun with pre-cleaning and post cleaning benchmark results. That would have shown how much performance degradation is caused my accumulated dust.

Cheers,

Pre-Cleaning:

CPU Idle: 46c

CPU Load: 65c ~ 67c

GPU Idle: 60c

GPU Load: 85c+

Post-Cleaning

CPU Idle: 42c

CPU Load: 57c

GPU Idle: 51c

GPU Load: around 75c ~ 78c

Dust was a reason yes, but the main reason for the change imo was that the thermal paste dried up.

Sweet!! By any chance you had run before and after Gaming or other Benchmarks like PCMarks, etc?

And good point about the Thermal Paste. What's the ideal time period for reapplying Thermal Paste? My computer is 3.5 years old almost and i have never checked the Thermal Paste ><

Cheers,

For GPU temps I used BF3 which I'm sure is pushing my graphic card to the limit considering I have an X6. And for CPU temps I used Autodesk Maya which puts a constant 100% load on all 6 cores of my X6 during rendering.

Um I'm not quite sure about thermal paste. I just make it a point to put a fresh dot of thermal paste everytime I disassemble my system.
